OwnStead

Know what your things are worth today. Prove when you owned them.

The AI runs on your iPhone
no account, no company server, no tracking.

A home fills up quietly. A couch one year, a laptop the next, a drawer of chargers nobody remembers buying. Ask what it's all worth and you'll get a shrug — the receipts are in a shoebox, the photos are scattered across years of camera roll, and the number in your head is years old. OwnStead is the ledger for what you own: photographed once, valued at today's prices, and backed by a record that shows when you documented it.
Every item you add sharpens the picture — the vault gets more valuable the longer you keep it.

know what it's worth today

One number, kept current.

ownstead widget

Not the price on a faded receipt — an estimate of today's actual cash value, kept current by category-based depreciation. The five-year-old TV, the two-year-old laptop, the couch: each valued at roughly what it's worth now, rolled into one number that's ready the day you need it.

Documented on your iPhone.
Backed up to your iCloud.

Your items, photos and receipts live on your iPhone, and the on-device AI reads them without sending anything to a server — there's no account and no OwnStead cloud. Choose to back up and a copy goes to your own private iCloud, yours and not ours; the tamper-evident record anchors to that same private iCloud. The only other connections are to Apple's own services — like local weather-hazard alerts — and any background check pulls public information down to your phone rather than sending your catalogue out.

Nobody actually knows what they own
Until they have to prove it

THE SHOEBOX
Receipts fade in a drawer. Photos scatter across years of camera roll. The spreadsheet — started three moves ago — is missing everything since. When you finally need the list, assembling it takes weeks you don't have.

THE INVENTORY APPS
The established apps charge per item — the more of your home you document, the more you pay, and the price climbs year on year. Documenting everything is exactly what makes them expensive. Your own records often sit on their servers, behind their subscription.

OWNSTEAD
One flat subscription, whatever your vault holds — unlimited items and properties, always. Everything runs on your phone, and everything you've documented stays yours: viewable, editable, and yours to keep via backup, in every state.

From camera roll to claim-ready, in five steps

Step 1

Snap anything

Point your camera at an item or a receipt. On-device AI reads it and hands back the details — brand, model, price, retailer, serial — no typing. Bringing history along? Import a CSV from a spreadsheet or another inventory app, or share a photo or PDF straight in from Mail, Files or Photos — receipts and tax invoices alike.

Step 2

You approve every entry

Everything the AI reads lands in Review Drafts first — laid out for checking, never auto-committed. Correct anything before it enters your vault.

Step 3

See it all, valued at today

Your vault, property by property, room by room — each item a photo card with a live value. A running total sits up top, and category-based depreciation keeps every figure honest. Search it by voice or text.

Step 4

Keep the proof

Every entry joins a tamper-evident, timestamped record — a cryptographic chain anchored to your own iCloud, not our server. Walk the room on camera every six months as dated evidence, add a LiDAR room scan, and when it matters, one tap builds an insurer-ready claim bundle: per-room folders, a valuation PDF, and a verification page.

Step 5

Ask your home, in plain English

"What's my sofa worth?" Or "Show everything in the garage over $500."Ask by voice or keyboard, and get the answer from your own vault — spoken back aloud if your hands are full. Entirely on-device, and free in every state. And you don't need the app open: ask through Siri, or jump straight to any item from Spotlight search.

Built on Apple Intelligence, Apple's own on-device models, which is why it needs no server and no account — and free in every state.

Beyond the five steps

The quiet features that earn their keep.

Business asset register — sole trader or side business, your work gear lives under its own property: every item with its receipt or tax invoice attached, what you paid, and what it’s worth today — exportable as a spreadsheet or PDF.
Maintenance & service log — repairs, services and costs, recorded against the item they belong to.
Warranty tracking — expiry dates on file, with a nudge before cover runs out.
Home-screen widget — your vault's value and health at a glance, without opening the app.
Barcode capture — scan the barcode and it's attached to the item's record.
Price & manual lookup — from any item, jump to a web search for its current going price in your country, or the manufacturer's user manual — pre-filled with the brand and model, so you're not retyping.
Severe weather alerts — a heads-up when a government-issued alert is active near you.
Face ID app lock — the vault opens for you, and only you.

YOUR RECORDS, YOUR RULES

The two tabs that keep you in charge.

My Records is where your record leaves the app whenever you choose — spreadsheets, insurance-ready PDFs, full claim bundles, Verification Sweeps, Room (LiDAR) Scans and a portable backup you can on-demand backup and restore on any of your devices.

Settings is where you set the terms: your currency, an app lock, and exactly which value an insurer sees.

The unglamorous tabs that matter most — everything that makes your record portable, and every switch that decides what an insurer sees.

Your data is never held hostage

The subscription covers growing the vault — new items, fresh AI extraction, valuation refresh, and fresh exports. Everything already documented stays viewable, editable, organisable, backed up and restorable, always. A portable backup and an auto-saved claim bundle mean your record survives with or without us.

Free in every state, subscribed or not: viewing, editing, deleting, organising, attaching photos, recording sweeps and LiDAR scans, backing up, restoring, and asking your vault questions. A subscription adds new-item capture, AI extraction, valuation refresh, and fresh insurer exports.
